Yesterday I took the girls on a safari to the wilds of Fishers (suburb of Indy) to the Fry's store and got a new monitor. So we are back online regularly, and we're going to see if we can fix the old monitor. The plan is to set up the old computer for Arabella, as she is getting old enough to use a computer and I am unwilling to sacrifice my computer to her adventures.
On Saturday, after 6 days with NO DAIRY in my diet, I put some cheddar cheese on my chili. I was rewarded for this transgression with the Night Of No Sleep. Sabine screamed, and would only sleep for about 1o minutes. When I reached the point of thinking that smothering sounded like an option, the Man stepped in and walked Sabine around for a screaming hour or so, until he could take no more. At about 2:30 I nursed her, tucked her into my armpit, and we slept fitfully until about 6. Yesterday was a crabby day, and last night was a little better, with 2 long stretches of sleep. Mom suggested it was the chili that upset Sabine, but I have eaten much spicier food with no reaction (I don't make spicy chili, its very mild). It's really hard to eat without any dairy -- no pizza, cheeseburgers, baked potatoes with butter and sour cream, grilled cheese, casseroles, etc. Our diet is currently based on chinese, barbecue, and jambalaya. I don't know how much more chinese food the Man can eat before he rebels.

What about goat milk/cheese? Or that lactose free stuff?
I was restricted off milk when I was little due to asthma (something about extra mucus production not helping with the whole breathing thing...).
I guess we'll have to put on hold the next batch of cookies until later :)
