Meet the Bean

Sabine Gabriella, born 12:03 am, Thursday, Sept 27th (yes, that's just past midnight).

7 pounds, 20 inches long.Very healthy and happy.


Thankfully and despite my fears, there were no mad dashes to the hospital nor any taxi cab deliveries. I started feeling contractions on Tuesday afternoon, and those contractions continued through Wednesday. Though the contractions began coming closer and stronger Wednesday afternoon, they never became regular, even in the final stages. At 8 pm on Wednesday we dropped off Arabella at our friend J-'s house for the night, and headed to the hospital. Until the last hour of labor, the pains were no more than what would be expected from menstrual cramps. I didn't receive any pain meds, and Sabine was delivered with 3 big pushes, crying quite strongly. Sabine looks pretty much exactly the same as Arabella did, and her weight is the same.

The next morning the Man showed up with Arabella, and she got to formally meet her baby sister. Although she looks distracted, she is THRILLED, but was trying to decide what to do with her hand while Daddy fussed with the camera.

There have been lots of snuggles, and Bella and Bean are off to a great start.
