Los Angeles

Arabella and I are back from Los Angeles, a very short trip. but we had dim sum at the Empress, we saw friends and family, and, the high point as far as she was concerned, Arabella got to ride Murphy, Dave and Virginia's venerable Missouri Fox Trotter gelding. Murphy is mellow and easy going, and Arabella was in her element. Dave noticed that Arabella didn't "clutch" the saddle when Murphy started walking, and Virginia said Arabella had a good seat. She moved comfortably when riding, and looked not at the ground, but at the horizon, like a cowboy on the range.
As we were headed to security, I realized we hadn't gotten a picture of Arabella with Grandmere and Pop-pop Marc, so I took this picture. Arabella slept most of the flight home, including missing Mommy barfing her guts up in the turbulance over the Rockies. The stewardesses were very kind to me, I think they were hoping I wouldn't regurgitate on the other passengers.
I realized how much I missed L.A. (the food, the trees, it's home), but also how much I don't really want to move back. And fight rush hour with all 30 million other people on the road? No thanks. I'll put up with snow.
