To detract from the sweater debacle, I am posting more pictures: the new shed and Arabella. The shed looks small, but you are seeing the short side, it is almost 8 feet deep, and holds a mower, garden tools, and arabella's yard toys. With room to spare. In the pic of Arabella, notice the matching doll outfit, too adorable.
In other news, Arabella is back at school today, after nearly a two week absence, due to pneumonia. She seemed pretty jazzed to be back, and took Mrs. Ireland a card she made.
Last night, I was just ready to bind off the back of Michael's sweater, and was counting stitches for the neck, and kept coming up 2 stitches short. I looked at the sweater panel to see if I had K2Tog anywhere, and then counted the bottom, thinking, I couldn't have cast on wrong ...
But that is exactly what I did. I cast on 80 stitches, instead of 82. My options now are:
- Just leave it that way, but then the neck will sit wrong, and the sweater will never lay flat. And the sleeves will be set in at an odd angle.
- Crochet an edge on each side. Yeah, right. This is a Mans sweater, remember.
- Unravel the entire back and start over.
I have decided that I will make the sleeves before I (probably) go with plan 3. Which means that my fantasy of Michael actually being able to wear his Xmas gift on Xmas day is going to remain a fantasy.
