Clay, not just for kids

Yesterday I invited the children from Arabella's preschool class, and their parents, over for a clay play day. It was, I think, a hit. Although S- fell off the swing three times (she hasn't quite grasped the importance of holding on) and as she was leaving cut her heel, there were no other casualties. And A-'s daddy had such a good time I asked if I needed to schedule a parents clay day. The kids mostly poked the clay and I showed the parents how to cut the clay into tiles or make them into little trays. And then the kids ran around the backyard while we parents hung out in the shade and continued playing with clay. It was great.

Jen, sorry to break this to you, but art history is not as much FUN as clay.
