Gardening for children

Today another mother from Arabella's preschool told me, with a sigh, that Sam (her 6-year-old) was having difficulty transitioning from Preschool (and co-op) to the local public Kindergarten, which started just last week. "He told me on the way home today that it was different than he expected, he thought it would be more like preschool, lots of time playing and outdoors in the garden.

"And then he said, 'but, Mom, I can't even FIND the garden.' And I said, 'what garden?'

"'Mo-om, Kinder-Garden.'"
