Arabella in New Orleans

I forgot to relate how Arabella, at my opening last Saturday, would drag people over and say, "This is my mommy's art, isn't it beautiful? And that's my mommy over there!" At the end of the evening she had 3 cards, including 2 business cards. I'm thinking of hiring her as my publicist.

Arabella really enjoyed travelling, she liked staying in a hotel, but most of all she enjoyed visiting at Grumpy and Shoppie's house in Hammond LA. (Grumpy and Shoppie are my father and step-mother. I swear I didn't come up with the names) The weather was warm , and even Sabine got to spend lots of time outside. I got a little bit of a sunburn. Arabella ran around. She dug holes to plant new plants. She rode the trike up and down. She painted.
She played with her sister.
But mostly she ran around.

I however celebrated my return to Louisiana by catching a cold. And giving it to Sabine and my Dad. At first I thought that I was just having a reaction to all the cigarette smoke, since Grumpy and Shoppie are serious smokers, but after a day of being out of the house, I realized it wasn't the smoke.

It is 850 miles from Hammond to Indianapolis by way of Nashville (the best route to avoid the bad weather on both drives), which is 2 days of driving. And Sabine, not very happy to be travelling on the way down, what with being sick was a basket case on the way back North. It would have been an unthinkable hell to travel without my father, THANK YOU GRUMPY!

Still, we made good time, and we returned home Wednesday afternoon to find a frantic Michael (he had called 7 times, but I never heard my cell phone, though it was in my purse by my foot), an immaculately clean house, and ice coating everything in the city.

It's good to be home.

Arabella obviously knows how hard you work on your art and how impt it is! I like to think she got her marketing/networking skills from her "Grandmere"....;>)
Love you, mom
