Here is one picture from vacation, of Sabine and William in the horseshoe pit at the cottage.
You may have noticed that I have not posted the promised new pictures when I promised. I have a bunch of pictures on the hard drive that Walter took at the cottage, but ...
Every time I try to download a group of Walter's pictures to the blog the program freezes. I don't know if the problem is the pictures are too big, our computer is too slow, or the host is having issues, but I have made multiple attempts. I am resigned to putting the pictures on the blog at a slower pace (sorry, Mom)
This difficulty I'm having is not limited to computers and digital files -- today I spent over 90 minutes knitting one row on my garnet red alpaca Pimlico Shrug. It is lace, but not a particularly difficult pattern. Today, however I counted, the base row of diamonds looked off. I counted, tinked back*, reknit, counted again, scratched my head (and fetched Sabine while she scampered off to the copy machine at the church office), and gave up, knit the whole row and found I had one stitch too many, tinked back the whole row, gave up and just knit it, and ended up ... just fine. I don't know what that was about.
*tink is knit in reverse, it means to undo your knitting one stitch at a time. If you're thinking that is slow, it takes less time and cursing than ripping and trying to put the stitches back on the needles.
