Last week I went back onto Atkins, trying to lose about 10 pounds and my leftover baby belly. I am on Day 7 of the 14 day Induction Diet. What this means is I eat a lot of meat and cheese, and some salad veggies. I don't notice any weight loss yet, but by next Suinday I expect to feel a little lighter. On Thursday I did something I have never done before in my life.
I ate an omelet.
I know, either you are thinking OMG, how does anyone get to very nearly 40 years of age without eating a freaking omelet, or OMG, why is this so strange? The answer to both is that I have never liked eggs. Ever. I don't even like meringue pies, because the meringue tastes like eggs. But since I was pregnant with Sabine the smell of eggs has been less repulsive to me than before, and I decided I needed to eat something different once in awhile. I broke two eggs and mixed in loads of cream, cheese, bacon, and mushrooms, and ate it with sugar free ketchup. It was okay, but I don't think I'll be making a habit of eggs.

In other news: Arabella had her first ice skating experience on Friday, and after having a major hissy for falling on her butt once, she calmed down and realized it was pretty fun. I found it pretty fun too. I was a pretty decent roller skater back in the day, and the skills are similar. I didn't fall, but I had a few windmilling moments.
And we just got the letter telling us that Arabella has gotten into the school we had hoped she would. I won't go into more details here on the blog (if you want to know more, email me) but my satisfaction at getting her enrolled in the school I had hoped she could go to knows no bounds. And Arabella is excited about it, too.
Sabine and Michael have been sick all the past week, but seem to be recovering. The poor things were all snotty and feverish, it was pathetic.
