Another sign of a big girl

Yesterday Arabella accumulated enough heart stickers on her big girl bedtime chart to earn a big girl bed. Since we haven't haven't found a local bed which we both liked and could afford (and haven't had a chance to go up to Chicago to Ikea), I figured we could use the twin futon from the guest room, at least until November, since we aren't expecting any houseguests. But when I told Arabella the plan, she said no, she wanted the side off her crib, to make it a daybed. I had told her once that we could take the side off her crib, and she elected to go with that. It took two storage boxes (to prop it up) and about 5 minutes to slide the rail off, and she was thrilled. She only got up once during the night, and slept in until almost 7:30, when she came downstairs all by herself. I guess we'll put off the twin size bed until she gets too tall for her new daybed.
