Drama Queen

Arabella is a little bit of a Drama Queen. Most of the time it is not really noticeable. I have many people comment to me what a happy, easy-going, easily entertained child she is, especially for 3. And she is. As long as she gets her way. And if her plans are thwarted, she gets REALLY MAD. At least thats what she tells me.

She gets this quite honestly. Both her mother and father have it. And her Grandmere has it. My mother is a happy, funny, easy-going person. Michael calls her the Evil Kewpie Doll, for her sweet manner and big innocent blue eyes. And wicked humor. And I have seen her temper.

When I was 15 we were headed up La Cienega, and she was cut off (nearly sideswiped) by a jerk in a pick up truck with shell. Not a nice shell, like you see these days, but the sort of shell that looks like someone put a Kentucky tool shed on the back of a beat up truck. Mom managed to swerve and honk the indignant VW Bug horn at the same time. At the next light, we pulled up beside him and looked over. I would like to point out we did not scowl, shake fists or otherwise gesticulate meanly. But the skeeze in the truck flipped my mother the bird and mouthed something that included a word I think was "Bitch". My mother was already in a mood, and she immediately went out the window of her VW Bug up to her waist, gave him the bird with both hands and yelled, "Oh Yeah? Well, here's two of 'em!"

I think Skeeze in Ratty Truck was a little startled, because he just drove off. I think this story may illustrate that one should never judge the bitchiness of another driver just because she is wearing a fussy little blouse and drives a green Beetle.

Sorry, Mom, but I had to tell it. I love you and respect you bunches, even if you did wear fussy little blouses.
