Bayoukken is what my paternal grandmother, Martha (American-born, but she seemed more rural Poland than rural Texas) ,called it when babies rocked on hands and knees, the motion they make before they learn to crawl. She even had a song to go with it, "bayouk-ayouk-ayouk-ayouk. Bayouk-ayouk-ayouk-ayouk."
Sabine is bayoukken (bayukking? no idea), sometimes very fast and strong. Although she has stated crawling, she is not entirely sure with it, and so she likes to bayouk. She really likes to bayouk at the cat, which worries the cat.

This morning Arabella had bacon (turkey bacon, I like it much better than real bacon). But before she finished it she would put this one little scrap of bacon on her face or leg or elbow and say, "the bacon is eating my (face, leg, elbow)!"

I'm taking a break from knitting the Pimlico Shrug to make a pair of Victoria Fingerless Mittens. The pattern calls for an expensive mix of wool, silk, mohair and fancy decorative yarns in pink and gold, but I used purples and blacks that were in my stash, including a mohair/sparkly yarn I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby, and they are coming out very nice. The second mitt is about 1/3 done, and will be finished by Monday, in time for our chilly May weather to warm up!
