Week in review

This week I finished gluing (the separated veneer) and oiling Arabella's new bed and put it in her room. She loves it, especially since it has jersey princess sheets and a white fleece blanket.

She has started saying "let me know" at the end of conversations. I know she gets that from me, but I'm not sure how or why ... She also gets her love of chocolate, early rising, and dog-whistle shriek from me, but those are less confusing. And she is totally goofy. Friday she was twirling in the diningroom curtains, pretending to be a ghost, and when she decided to get out, she found her hair was all twirled up in the curtain. I had to go free her. After I laughed.

Last night was bittersweet on the football front. The Colts won (which means there will be more joy in mudville this week) in one of the most painful games I have ever watched, NO touchdowns. That's right, none. Then Philadelphia played the Saints, and though Michael likes the Saints and will cheer them on next week, he is a Philly boy. And the fact that the yellow flags against the Eagles were flying like a blizzard didn't make it easy. He feels the Eagles were blocked from winning by bad calls. I (quietly) was hoping the Saints would win, only because I root for the team of anyplace I have lived. Except San Diego, they don't count.

The weather is oddly warm this week (month, year, whatever), its actually warmer here than in South Texas, and though they keep taunting us on the news with promises of snow, it hasn't happened. Even I, warm weather lover that I am, am missing the snow, and sledding and snowball fights and scenery. Indiana is not a pretty place, and without snow the winter is gray and dark and dreary. Not missing digging the car out of the snow or maneuvering our weird little driveway. And I think we may not have flowers in the spring, since the daffodils are already sprouting, and a good solid freeze later will drop them in their tracks.
