Yesterday we had about 3 inches of snow, which last night turned into rain and ice, and overnight returned to snow, and dropped about another 4 or more inches, so now we have a veritable layer cake of snow and ice. Church cancelled nursery and preschool, I don't know if there will be services, but we're not driving clear across town in this stuff.
Sabine has been a miniature snot producer, but is sleeping better, thanks in part to the saline solution and snot extraction regimine. Arabella seems improved, but persists in running around the house in a lightweight t-shirt and skirt, no pants, no socks, no slippers, no sleeves. I convinced her she needed sleeves and she dragged out the eye-wateringly fuschia long sleeved leotard.
Arabella can't seem to decide if she wants to be a big girl or a baby, and we have had a few ugly incidents (including one at Target Friday which ended in my picking her up, dumping her in the cart, and wheeling her out to the car, shrieking her head off). Mostly she is sweeter than ever, playful and helpful, but at times I could just scream.
My Christmas knitting is coming along nicely, but I doubt I will do as much as I had hoped to do. As soon as we get back from our Christmas travels, I will be working in the studio as much as I can, regardless of weather, to get done for the show in New Orleans. And in a bit of great / awful news, the State Museum wants me to do some demo's, with a case of my sculptures nearby, and a range of work for sale in the gift shop. That is the great part. The awful part is that they wanted me to do this in January (not possible) and penciled me in for March (not really any better) and I'm hoping for April or May. In late April the Radical Lace and Subversive Knitting exhibit opens, and I'm hoping to have some production work which combines knitting with ceramics by then. This is a great opportunity, its just such an inconvenient time.

Hi Cara - my goodness the kids have grown since I last looked. The baby is adorable and Arabella is getting so big! You have snow and we had rain followed by low 30's weather today. Last week was close to 80 several days - go figure. By the way, are you going to be going to NCECA in March? I finally get to go after a few years away. Hugs to you and the family. Crystal
