I haven't finished the 'Setting Limits for your Stong-Willed Child' book yet, but things are already improving. I think this may be in part due to my greatly reducing Arabella's sugar, and especially chocolate, consumption. It's a noticeable difference.
This is not only for her sake, but mine, too. If I am going to meet my goal of getting back to a comfortable weight before I turn 40, I need to start now. And for those of you sniggering in the peanut gallery, I will be turning 40 in 15 months! That's right! I know you all like to think I'm young (mom, I know, if I'm 38 that means you ... were a child bride), but I'm not as young as I used to be. And I realize that losing weight will not be as easy now as when I was 33.
Back to Arabella. She's a bit mellower (a bit) without a daily chocolate milk. She actually took a nap with Sabine and me on Friday. She is listening better, and showing more creativity and patience. Keep in mind this is all incremental, she is still wild and wooly, but we're down to a 8 or 9 instead of 11 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Sabine is sleeping better since I went back to using saline solution and an aspirator on her nose every night. She cries like I'm suctioning out her brains, but the sleeping is much better.
