Every year my mom asks me what I would like for my birthday (since she lives about 2500 miles away my first choice of babysitting the girls for the next 10 years is right out), and I so eloquently say "um, I don't know ..."
This year I was looking at a knitting catalog and drooling/lusting/hyperventilating over a set of interchangeable needle points and cables. The women in my knitting group use and swear by KnitPicks needles, they are much less expensive than my favorite Addi's, and they are beautiful tools. And the set is expensive enough to feel like a luxury. And I had a brainwave. So I told Mom about the pretty needles, and she sent:
This is the KnitPicks interchangeable needle set in Birch. And my sussie, a yarn cutter. And:
A book I have been wanting, and:
1700 yards of wool in Black Cherry Heather, enough to make a cool cardigan-jacket. I'm feeling all giggly.
And Michael is upset because he can't think of how he can possibly top that.
