I'm a sucker for a cool-looking dress. We saw this at Target today, and Arabella was instantly in love. She tried to wear it out of the store, leaving her own clothes on the dressing room floor.
I really wish they had one in my size, although this summer the dresses will stay put away. Nursing makes dresses a bit hopeless. I haven't gotten to the point in life where I will pull my skirt up to my collarbone in public. I am sure my family will have an intervention if I ever reach that point.
Sabine enjoyed the great outdoors too.
She's pretty crabby today, just wants to be held and cuddled all the time. But still no teeth. We think last nights aftershock woke her up. I felt it, but only on the edges of consciousness, and Michael slept right through it.
I'm calling this Sabine's Skull Isle Sweater, a play on Fair Isle. It's not my first attempt at intarsia, but it is my most involved. The basic pattern comes from the book Anticraft:Knitting, Stitching, and Beading for the Slightly Sinister. I changed the pattern a little, casting on 55 instead of 54 so the skulls would be centered, and I'm planning on grafting the shoulder seams and picking up for the sleeves, instead of sewing it all together after. This way there will be fewer seams to sew in the end. I'm using Cotton-Ease, which is machine washable, as I think all baby knits should be.

Love that dress!! I want one too! And you can always pull your boob out from the top of the dress and use a shawl for decency. I never had to figure that stuff out, but that is my first thought on the dilema. =)
