Except for a few trips out to buy groceries and to teach, I have been indoors with both girls for nearly two weeks. I. Am. Over. It.
Although I haven't reached the point of driving to Nebraska, it has been getting close. Arabella, deprived of the usual outlets for her unbelieveable energy and friendliness, is more of a nuisance than usual. I have said the following phrases at least a dozen times a day in the past week:
- Sit your butt in your chair and eat your lunch.
- Leave your sister alone.
- Stop it.
- Quiet. I said, quiet. Your sister is asleep, be quiet.
- Use your indoor voice.
- No you can't have a snack, you just ate 10 minutes ago and didn't finish all of it before you said you were full.
- I don't care if we are inside, put more clothes on. You cannot wear shorts and t-shirts and no socks when you are sick.
- Go watch tv and leave me alone.
I realize most of this stems from her being bored to tears, but I don't have any good solutions to that as long as she is sick and it's cold outside. She keeps talking about summer and how if she is sick in the summer she can go outside anyway because it will be warm.
Sabine is sick too, and is making me crazy in a different way. Mostly crazy with worry. But she is crabby and impatient and stubborn. And snotty, so I have to keep an eye on everything she handles to see if it is snotty.
And, not the best thing to do when I am already reaching my limit for preschooler-ness, I am participating at preschool tomorrow. I think Arabella is well enough for school, we'll see.
I think I will be taking a night off sometime soon.

Oh! Hang in there Cara! If you need to drop them off here to get a break, you are more than welcome. You could go for coffee or take a bath or something:)
