What is going on in fashion this year? We went to Old Navy last week, to get jeans for Michael, and Arabella took this as an opportunity to make mommy insane (the minute I looked at a tag for size, she would disappear). I looked at the women's clothing and most of what I saw reminded me, unpleasantly, of the 80's, v-necks that are open down to my pupek (bellybutton, you naughty kids), and leggings and gaucho's (culottes, back in the day). Nothing looked appealing. OK, in all honesty, nothing looked like it would go with my t-shirt sleeve headbands and black motorcycle boots. More and more, making my own clothes seems like a sane alternative. And for those of you thinking Old Navy cannot be held up as an example of all the clothing on the market, ON is the only place I shop for clothes where I can't buy groceries. Welcome to the life of a mommy.
In an insane twist of my mind, I today knitted a gauge swatch for a skirt for Arabella. To wear for picture day. On Tuesday. Yes, this Tuesday, as in day after tomorrow. It could happen. And I could maybe not sleep ... Maybe I'll just dye her stained pink cords brown to match her sweater ...
