Yes, the previous post shows that I have no idea what is going on in the blog world when I insert pictures. The hat and cowl were supposed to go first, followed by pictures of Arabella in all her goofy cuteness.
Today we bought a bed and mattress for Arabella, an antique (how weird are artist parents for thinking buying an antique bed for a 3 year old is normal) twin bed. Frame and mattress cost $180. Pop is refinishing it, since the varnish on it has turned black and alligatored. We don't know what kind of wood it is, but it is veneered with something dark, maybe cherry or walnut? I liked it better than almost anything else we saw, including a brass bed I had been eyeing. Arabella told us it's "not a bed" since she is looking at the head and footboards and her brain can't quite grasp the spatial issue. But she loves her new mattress.
Michael has been weatherproofing his studio, and now it has Lord of the Rings banners hanging in the windows of the garage door. I think he will be replacing them with a gargantuan pets banner. The joys of recycling.
